Driving More and More Traffic To My Blogs

As a blogger with more than ten blogs, I certainly could do with some free traffic because I can never find the time to network. I know that is the magical way to drive traffic to my posts, by leaving comments and hope the bloggers and their blog readers would notice my comment, like what I wrote and click on the link to my blog. Well, I do not have time for that and I hope that blogging is just writing without the need to drive traffic. I would be perfectly happy if I could just blog, blog and blog but I would be happier if I know that my writing is able to reach out to others.

So it was timely that this morning, I was told of a great place called Buzzfuse that could help me to market my original content that could drive traffic to my blogs. Of course, this means that I would have to write better and also make my title so interesting that people would have to click on it to read the full post from my blog.

I love the fact that just by clicking on the link, we get to read the entire post of the blogger at his or her own blog. You know some services will give you an excerpt, some will even hijack the full post and that just reduce the potential traffic that you could earn.

I am impressed that some posts managed to receive a few hundred views and I admit, I could certainly do with that volume of traffic! I have just submitted my post to Buzzfuse and I am hoping that traffic will start flowing in anytime soon. Of course, I am not hoping for a miracle but I have so many posts that I could try later. It’s so easy to just add a code to my posts.

First, we are required to invite a total of ten people to be able to release our content to the public. I was also told that we could even use this free service to market our paid reviews. Well, I think that is awesome but we should not abuse this free marketplace!

Is Goo Launching Paid Review Programme?

There have been rumours that Goo may launch a paid review programme. Well, if they are, I am not even surprised. Why? They have tried to kill of their blog advertising competitors and now, this would be the killer blow, or so they think.

So where does this leave us bloggers who are left with a big fat egg for our blog rankings? Most of us are, by the way, also publishers for Goo’s blog advertisements, which I shall not name but I am sure everyone knows the name.

What I know is that some people were so pissed off when they received an egg that they even wrote in to terminate their account. I think that we should keep theses issues separate, though. There’s no point being blinded by emotions.

However, I hope that should such a programme be launched, I certainly would like to participate as well.

Stripped Off All Ad Codes

If you are a regular reader of my blogs, you would know notice that the ad codes of a certain blog advertisement programme has been stripped off all my blogs. I joined this programme years ago, and I have forgotten their Terms of Service, until a friend refreshed my memory that this company prohibits the use of their service on blogs that promotes drugs, imitation goods and gambling.

After my chat with this friend, I went to read their Terms of Service again and true enough, they did mention explicitly which types of blogs qualify and which do not.

I spent the next hour and a half removing all my ad codes from all blogs, or at least I tried to, but I am not sure if I have cleaned it up totally because page impressions are still being recorded but only less than 10 impressions.

I will wait a little longer and see if the cache clears from all our computers to see if there are still impressions. As far as I know, I have already removed them all but it’s hard to say.

Behind Schedule

With my computer just home and my internet broadband still cranky with now you can, now you cannot connect, I am seriously behind schedule in updating my blogs. I am sure if you have read a few posts back, I have four new blogs. Luckily they are all my Passion Blogs, blogs that I write for absolute fun.

But still, I do not like it with the big gaps between posts but that can’t be helped and I can only work on my blogs for a limited hours a day because I am not a silai. LOL

I guess I shouldn’t even complain and should be grateful that I even have broadband internet and computer. Ya, that surely sounds like what my parents would say! See, this month has been extremely challenging with all the obstacles but what could not kill me can only make me stronger.

I Know They Are Out There!

I spent the weekend past surfing the web like crazy looking for WordPress themes and website templates. Well, I’ve got three very suitable WordPress themes for my new blogs but I have yet to personalize them. If I fail to personalize them to my needs then I may have to ditch them for something simpler. I hate to beg for help again.

The challenge right now is to look for one WordPress theme and a website template for my iPhone site and blog. There aren’t that many themes and templates that are based on the iPhone and I suspect that some people got them custom made because I could not find the source.

You know, sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with all these. To think that 1.5 years ago, I was learning HTML so that I could customize my Blogger themes and a year ago, I was lost in a web of CSS codes when I first hosted my WordPress blogs. I was so confused that I had to get help for every little thing that I wanted done.

Last week, I got a personal site done at last and now I am going to build a website. A WEBSITE! That is really ambitious of me! Right now, I still have not found the best layouts for my sites and I still need a little time to customize my three new themes. But then, I just started these blogs last week. To think that I spent a few months searching for and then customizing the template of my personal blog that I started last year LOL

Remembering To Ping

With a less hectic blogging life, I am remembering to Ping almost all my posts on those free blog aggregators and I am seeing a difference in my blog traffic. It is great to have a higher traffic pass though my blog daily, though it is not easy to maintain the level daily. We cant expect to write killer posts everyday, right? Moreover, the weekends are always slow when it comes to blogging and interne traffic.

Apart from getting a lower Alexa ranking and Real Ranks, having higher local traffic numbers would make the blog a better pick for local blog advertisers because of the right target market.

And although this blog has been getting more traffic than my other blog on average than the other one blog that I run, I was surprised to get a blog ad offer on that blog instead of this. Could it be the blog category? I don’t know… I guess only the one who made the pick will know!

Incoming Advertisement On My Blog

Just when I thought that I should write a post on how no more advertisements are handed to my blog just because I did not opt in to the Glitter Club, I was surprised to receive an email this morning informing me that an advertisement spot has been bought for one week. Well, that’s cool considering that traffic has been erratic no thanks to all the holidays.

But now, even with a new ad opportunity, I am not as happy as I used to be because I know that I will be penalised 99 for not being an exclusive member and will not be paid my rightful amount before this exclusive shit was implemented.

Oh well, at first I thought that I would finally be able to cash out my cheque in the first quarter of this year, I guess I would be lucky if I could see my money this time next year!

One word: UNFAIR!
