A few months after setting up this blog, my first self-hosted blog powered by WordPress, I was overwhelmed by the number of spam comments I received. As a new WordPress user, it took me a few months before I implemented Akismet plug-in. I know it’s supposedly built-in but I did not request for an API key.

It you have used the old version of Akismet, you will know that this latest version helps us to manage our spam comment so much easier. At least I no longer have to go through each and every page to look for that wayward legitimate comment. What I do now is just go to the Comments to be moderated page and not care about Track backs and Ping backs.

Guess what? Today, my Spam comment went above 80,000 and it is still counting, it’s scary! Can you imagine the amount of time I wasted just clearing my Spam? I always feel bad if I had accidentally deleted a REAL comment and I also feel back deleting insightful comments that were left on my blog by “products” or “commercial sites”.

However, I think that my priority is to keep my blogs clean and I will try to do whatever I can, even if I do delete genuine comments. See, right now, I already have 80,306 spam and I know that in a month’s time, it will grow to six figures *shiver*

All right, I’ve been stuck to my blogs for at least four days and it’s time to get a break. My friend, Amy, has already taken a shopping break last night. Me, tonight, I will be going for a movie and laptop shopping.

LOL You think I will be buying a laptop tonight? No, I will just go check them out this evening and only buy it during PC Fair in April. haha!

I may have neglected my passion blogs terribly in recent days but one more day without updating won’t hurt them. Will they explode or something? Naaahh….. I don’t think so, but it is just weird if I totally do not blog. Maybe I will sneak in a post or two? Boy, am I addicted to blogging. Haha!

This afternoon, I was so pissed off as I was unable to submit my post to one of those marketplaces. You know, sometimes these systems are really f@rked. I know that I did copy and past the mark exactly as requested but still I was thrown error after error. Heck, after blogging for them for more than a year, I do know what I am doing!

I did try over and over again foe more than ten times, I finally gave up and wrote in to support. In retrospect, I think that I should just have rejected my offer and trashed m post. I think I read somewhere before that they are unable to manually submit a post and we would have to do it exactly as the system wanted us to.

it’s all fine and good but it’s technology and you know that we cannot depend on technology entirely, don’t you? I could hardly spare the time to back track over and over again and in the end, I just decided to move on. Like I said, I retrospect, I should have trashed my opportunity and remove my post so that at least I could salvage my two interims. Now, if I end up not getting compensation for this post, I would have to remove it and I will end up having four interims, way more than I would like.

I still have about 14 hours before the odder expires and if I don’t hear from Support and there is no solution for me, I will be very crossed. Why should I not be when I am only compensated $5 for three posts?

I have spent the whole week blogging and blogging but the thing is, I am not blogging on my passion blogs and I feel so bad about it because on my passion blogs, although there is no pressure to update them, I do have very loyal readers who come for a good read because there are no advertisements on them, some do not even have AdSense and believe me, they load so fast, faster than blogs with AdSense and worse, blogs that have local ad block codes, ITK and other java scripts.

Each time I am busy like this and do not have the time to blog on my passion blogs, it is hard to build it up again, the readership and the rapport. I am sure I am not the only one feeling so but what I don’t understand is how some people are able to keep almost a hundred blogs and websites and still going strong? No need to sleep ar?

As for me, I wake up at six in the morning and by lunch time at 2pm, I have already put in a solid eight hours of work. This is the average number of hours an office worker puts in a day, isn’t it? And then I continue putting in a few hours here and there until about 10pm where I will sit at the computer until my work for the day is done and by then, it could be 4am or so.

Please tell me I am NOT going to kill myself!

Did you notice a new Captcha format for TigaP opportunities? I think that is pretty awful! Previously, the Captcha tests us visual and our ability to decipher these strange words that are not real words.

Now? They are testing our reading speed, typing speed AND History, mathematics and English vocabulary.

Who was the first President of the United States (Last name only)? Do you know Washington? If you have put anything other than Washington, you would have failed to reserve your opp. Teettt that’s History, American History, for you. This is like asking an American who was Malaysia’s first Prime Minister?

Be prepared to also answer questions like, so-and-so earned $50 from blogging for five days. How much did she earn per day? So, here is the opp for $2500 and you are supposed to do this really simple math of dividing $50 by five and yet due to nervousness, you could very well know the answer but still key in the wrong numbers, know what I mean?

Whatever, I just see these little things as obstacles for us to overcome if we still want to be in the game.

Did you know that Smorty has a forum and blog now? I am fine with blogs but I don’t like forums, especially forums of money making sites. We all know about all the bitching in TigaP forum and how most of the problems stemmed from jealousy. That’s why I never participate in forums like these. Heck, I have RETIRED from forumming ages ago, way before I even started blogging. Basically, forums are places where people who are looking for a fight go to because they do not have anything else better to do.

Anyway, if you do not know about it yet, check it out. You can sign in to the forum with your regular Smorty user ID and password.

Oh yea, while you are logged into Smorty, perhaps you want to select an image for your avatar. I wanted to change mine but the ready made avatars do not have a female version so I left mine blank, until I could find another image to use.

Basically, I don’t care for all these. All I want are offers!! GIMME OFFERS!!!

My goodness, more work has landed on my desk and I guess I will be stuck to my chair in front of the computer for the rest of the day and most probably tomorrow as well. What can I say? I need the dough and am thankful that I even have work to do. At least it helps me stay focus.

I just feel sorry though, I have to bury my head with work and neglect my other blogs and my friends and family. I guess we all can’t have our pie and eat it, if you know what I mean.

Paul asked me to go to Phuket with him. Ughhh holidays have to wait while I complete my work first or I will go mad! Haha I am someone who MUST finish the work on my desk every day or I will feel stressed. hah…… This coming from the Queen of Procrastination!
