Blogger’s Scheduled Post Publishing & BlogRoll

Well, is this good news or what? Blogger finally brought us this feature that I am sure, made WordPress so well loved. Now that we have the ability to schedule our future posts, do you think that less and less people will think of migrating their blogs to be hosted on WordPress?

I have plenty of blog posts that are in Drafts with various dates. These are posts that I have no intention to publish at all, so I have to make sure that once this new feature is rolled out, it is now in Beta, if not mistaken, I am going to push their dates even further into the future. Right now, I have set them for 2009! LOL

Another new feature from Blogger is their Blogroll. Well, what took them so long to give us these blog basics, huh? The good thing about an integrated blogroll is that this blogroll is powered by Google Reader which means that the link will show a snippet when the blog is updated. Well, does this mean we can now do without BlogRolling already? Not that I use it, though! Just asking!

Tasks Pending Payment Cancelled

I don’t know how many people are in the same boat as I am. The other day, I was waiting for a couple of payments from a certain network and they were not forthcoming. So I checked my tasks that were pending payment and found that three were cancelled. Eh, I was surprised because this company should have mailed to let me know why, right? That’s the least they could do.

So I shot them an email via the contact form on their website and also an email to one of the staff. The email I received surprised me more. I was told that my tasks, although completed were cancelled and I will not be paid my dues as i was found to have abused the system. Eh…. Tell me, how can I grab a task a day when they are available and be called a system abuser? Just because I’m dedicated to grabbing one a day they think i abused it? People who understand the grab bag system will know that once a task is grabbed, the other tasks will not show up anymore. If they do not want us to grab and think that grabbing is abusive then why give this grab bag option?

If they claim that these tasks were wrongly assigned to our bags, then there was a task that was assigned to my pr0 blog in late February, 2008 when this blog was already pr0 in October or November 2007. If it’s a mistake after so many months then they should see through payment for it.

The thing that pissed me off is that they do not have the courtesy to inform me. If they had, at least i could remove these posts. They have gone live for 30 days and link juice has been passed. Really, when people told me that this company is not good, I defended it. Now I have my own bad experience to share as well. Really, companies like these sure won’t want to mess with bloggers, I tell you!

Ask The Blogger!

A few days ago, I wrote a post called Why You Should Get On My Top Spot and mentioned that if you tip me on my ScratchBack, I will give you a free buzz. Well, guess what? My post brought none other than the ScratchBack Boss himself, Jim Kukral. [Sometimes, you gotta make some noise to get the attention!]

Jim kindly tipped me [hey, it’s only $2, cheap!] and got a link for his blog, Ask the Blogger. At the time of writing this post, Ask the Blogger is offline, and so is his personal site, JimKukral.com.

Luckily, I already checked on Ask The Blogger yesterday morning. What this site does is to answer all the questions you have regarding blogging. If there’s a question you always wanted to ask but were afraid of being laughed at or something, you can just drop Jim a line. I am sure he will answer your question.

I remember that I once asked another person who runs a similar blog. My question was how to widgetize a WordPress theme. I did not know how even after reading the tutorial on the WordPress Support forum. The reply I got was, “Change another theme!” hehehe

Even though it is free to ask the blogger any question you have pertaining to blogging, I urge you to do a search on the blog first to make sure that the question has not already been asked and answered. I visit plenty of forums and one of the problems I noticed is that people are ALWAYS asking the same questions. That’s not good.

A friend asked me why I am only offering $2 for a link. He says it is too low. Well, this is an offer. You will get a link on my Scratchback widget and a free buzz for $2 ONLY. So how long will this offer last? This offer lasts till I don’t feel like giving an offer anymore. Hehehe a girl needs no reason to raise her prices, you know?! So what are you waiting for???

Giving Up On Blogger Themes/Skins

Some of you may have read that I spent a few days this past week searching the web for beautiful blogger themes or skins for my Blogspot blogs. Well, I have had my fair share of looking for beautiful free WordPress themes and free premium WordPress themes and I must say that there are more WordPress themes that I like than there are Blogger themes. Those WordPress themes that I like, I have already used so I am not prepared to use the same for my Blogger blogs. I need variety and I believe that my readers do too.

After going through so many different themes where there is not even one that I like, besides those that I already am using for my WordPress blogs and that have been ported for Blogger, I think that I am giving up. I have spent a considerable amount of time and yet have nothing to show for my effort. It is very discouraging.

What I can do now and may do is to look for a fresh WordPress theme and request JackBook to port it to Blogger. This is the only solution I can think of. But this means that I would have to wait till JackBook is free. So I guess this time, I will be looking for WordPress themes ONCE AGAIN!

Keyword Stuffing Works

I read various sources on the internet that keyword stuffing no longer works and that it is a cause for being flagged by the search engines. Well, I can say that it is still relevant based on the experience of a friend. Well, since the paid post industry is on the brink of dying, according to her, she changed her blog monetization method with a focus on AdSense.

And according to her report, she has seen a marked increase in her earnings. Last time, when she was still an innocent blogger, she did not even receive an AdSense cheque but after learning the ropes of SEO, she put what she has learnt to full use on all her blogs. From almost ZERO AdSense earnings, she is sometimes getting almost US$100 a day. That is an amount to be envious of for people who are trying to earn advertiser dollar via AdSense.

So who says it does not work? Keyword stuffing works, but never go overboard or it will be too hard for human eyes to read! The ability for Search Engines to read you is not enough.

Managing Fifteen Blogs

My friend was surprised to learn that I have fifteen blogs. How can one juggle that many blogs when there are only so many hours in the day! What surprised her even more is that I am a known procrastinator! I admit some time back, I was unable to manage my time properly and ended up feeling overly stressed when it should be something enjoyable to do.

Well, I have better time management right now and juggling fifteen blogs is almost “nothing”. Did you read an old post of mine on rotating my blogs to update by using an exercise book? That’s right. Sometimes it’s better to go back to basics!

Time management is a whole lot easier to stick to if you have set career goals to achieve. I was advised by my friend to set a mid-term goal that is not too difficult to reach. If it’s an impossible goal, I would feel demoralized. Therefore, even for personal goal setting, we have to be realistic. With that as the main focus, we would be able to make full use of our time in the best possible way.

A New Way to Monetize Our Blogs

Well, not exactly new, but I got your attention, didn’t I? Snap Bomb is a new blog marketing marketplace like so many others that we already know of.

When I was told of SnapBomb, I registered for an account and added my blogs to my account. Each blog is automatically valued and you can start checking out the marketplace for opportunities already. That’s right, they do not even have to review your blog for approval!

I may be new to SnapBomb but I am definitely not new to blog advertising. So, for all new members, we will have to write a review of SnapBomb before we are rated. The thing is, we were told to review the service and indirectly create a buzz for the company but we are not told of the minimum word length of our post and we can publish the review on any blog that we have added to our account. Once we have made a reservation to review an opportunity, we will be given a full twelve hours to submit our review.

Although I have checked through all the links on SnapBomb, I can’t seem to find any information on payment. All I know is that we will be paid via PayPal and this is great news for international bloggers. However, there’s no schedule listed or anything. And you know, bloggers are very sensitive when it comes to payment issues!

Anyway, let me try the service out first and give you a follow up later!
