17, 18, 19!!!

A couple of days ago, I mentioned about my wish to start three blogs. Well, I DID IT!!!! Last night, I set up three niche blogs, one on shopping bargains and deals, one of recipes and food and one on gadgets and electronics. Yes, as you see, my interests are wide and far-reaching.

So far, I have only installed WordPress and uploaded the necessary plug-ins. I still have to upgrade these blogs to the latest WordPress v 2.5.1, activate all the plug-ins and then only start to publish my first posts. Well, I’ve got a couple of days to get them going and start looking for themes. I don’t like using the same theme so I am going to take a little more time with giving them their separate identities.

After that, I’d have to start going round my blogs updating them. I just did that yesterday that’s why I could spare the time to start those new blogs going. hehe… have to push myself to work harder. Time and tide wait for no woman!

In Search Of Food Niche Blogs and Websites

I will be very busy in the next couple of weeks as I would be helping a friend kick start his new advertising venture. My task is to help look for blogs and websites that are in the food niche. This will include blogs and websites on wine, cooking, recipe, eating out, fine dining and anything that is food related. Hhmm YUMMY!

Talking about food, I have three blogs that I wish to set up within these couple of days, after I have completed updating my blogs, which have been left idle prior to the change in servers. Well, one of them will be a blog on my recipe collection.

I got this idea to share my collection of recipes in a blog after spending one month clearing out my room and discovering a large stack of recipes. So why not share them with people who have a passion for food, right? So yes, this recipe blog is going to be my passion blog as well.

Errr… how many blogs do I have already? O.o

Tagging & Labeling

I spent the past few days just tagging and labeling my old posts from one WordPress and two Blogger blogs and I tell you, can really puke, man. I did it for SEO purposes and since I could not do anything with seven blogs that were moving house, I had a little free time on my hands so I thought I would put my old blogs in order. When I started these blogs, I did not know about the importance of tagging and labeling. Gosh, there was no such feature built-in either, or I would have used them.

So, all in all, there were approximately 300 posts spread over three blogs. Gee, I tell you, the two Blogger blogs were the killers. Not only was labeling a pain in the behind because we only had one small space to type in our labels, if you are not careful, you could make the mistake of labeling it something else because of its supposedly “auto complete” feature. Oh, how I hate that and it is not that intuitive at all.

Moreover, because of the frequency of my posts being published, most of my Blogger blogs have the Captcha thingy and they are so bloody complex, I keep getting them wrong up to four or five times. It was an extremely tedious process. Boy, I am so glad that I have finished with the task and moving forward, I will just continue to tag and label them as I write and publish each new blog post. *sigh*

Make Money Through BloggerWave

I am sure every one who is interested in blogging knows that there’s money to be made and I am sure many of us have already heard of BloggerWave, after their teething problems. Well, I personally have no problems with them except that I wish they have more opportunities for us. I realize that their links are NOFOLLOW links and that is good news to us, bloggers.

If you would like to make money with your blog, from your blog, you may want to check out BloggerWave. You can submit up to five blogs to the system which means more opportunities for you to make money with your blogs!

Getting Crossed-Eyed

Some of you may know that I have three Blogger blogs and due to the frequency of posting, I have to enter the verification code each time I publish a new post. Well, I know that they did say that if I were human, I would have no problems reading that verification code or that I could send a note to them to tell them I want my blog reviewed to lift the requirement for verification each time I publish or even edit a post. But I decided not to.

Anyway, I’ve been doing OK but I don’t know how many of you noticed, recently, the verification code is getting more and more difficult to decipher! I keep getting them wrong and each time, I at least have to enter the code two times before getting it right. There are times, on bad days that I would only get it right after four times!

Luckily there is no limit of the number of tries we get, like banking security or something and our account would get locked if we failed after X attempts LOL Maybe other people do not find it difficult to read at all. Maybe it’s my eyes… or my brains!

My Impression Of Social Spark

When I was invited to Social Spark a month or two ago, I went to check out the site. I told my friend that I will not be registering because it’s “nothing special”. In fact, the site was pretty confusing and I did not have the time to explore.

I also did not like it that we are made to socialize with other bloggers and/or advertisers and by the time I received my invitation, I could see that cliques have already been formed. I am not a social blogger so I don’t see how I could fit in. Later, I was told that a friend’s blog was rejected and I thought that to get accepted into Social Spark, we would have to submit virgin blogs. I am still undecided if I should submit any of my virgin blogs.

What I like about SocialSpark, though, is that all links are NOFOLLOW. I wish that Social Spark was already in place when I started paid blogging but it’s not possible to turn back time. What I don’t like is the in-post disclosure. I do not see the need to bring it up so obviously since my posts are usually written based on my own life, my experiences or those of my friends and people I know. So whether they do contain a link to a product, website or service or not I would still have written that post in a similar fashion.

I just registered with Social Spark and have submitted a blog for approval. I hope that it is approved so that I could use the features of the website fully. When I was registering, I felt that we had to enter irrelevant information like favorite team sports, shoe size and favorite color. I know this is supposed to help advertisers to decide whom to send products for reviews BUT coming from Malaysia, it’s not as if we get product reviews at all. This is my Social Spark profile and it is pretty empty right now but I was surprised to see that the Boss is now my friend. I think he goes around being buddies with all new members.

I hope that as time goes on, I will be more comfortable with the Social Spark and will not feel as if the site is overloaded with information and features.

Number 16

So I started a new blog already and it is my blog number 16. I fear that one day, I would realise that I have more than a hundred blogs and website to in my name! GASP! Gosh! I wonder how people mange THAT??

Although I have sixteen blogs, I have yet to include my ecommerce site, personal site and one empty domain. So, yeah, taking all these into account, I would have twenty sites in my name already! I hope to stop acquiring more domain names but then when a good name suddenly pops up in my head, I would feel compelled to buy the domain name, install WordPress and START A BLOG!

Gee… many of my friends have more blogs than I do and they are not even complaining.
