Are You Addicted To The Internet?

I am not sure if there are people who spend more time on the internet than me. I mean, I’m online at least twenty hours of the day and night and the mouse is the first thing I touch when I wake up and the last thing I touch before I fall asleep. Well, it used to be the last, until my Nokia E61i came along and then I go online in bed, until I fall asleep! Hahaha

So I came across this BlogThings quiz while blog hopping and I got curious because I am very certain that I am addicted to the internet until there is no cure for me.

I did the quiz with bated breath as honestly as I could and lookie here the results!

You Are 77% Addicted to the Internet

In your opinion, life without the internet is hardly worth living.
Could be, but you probably need a bit more fresh air and sunshine to think clearly.

See!! I am ONLY 77% addicted to the internet, I thought I could easily score above 90%. Phewww I am not as bad as I thought I am! lalalalala What about you? Dare you try this quiz? Let me know your score!

The Ultimate Yellow Pages

As an active internet user, not a day goes by without me making a search for one information or another but the problem starts when I have to switch search engines because no matter how comprehensive the search results are, there are still some listings that will only appear on one search engine and not the other.

I discovered the Ultimate Yellow Pages today and unlike the major search engines that I have used all along, Radiux will search across major sites including eBay, Craigslist, Amazon and Overstock. This really saves time especially when you are looking for quick information.

According to the Radiux website, all members who use the site have a chance to earn money just by utilizing the features. Radiux will pay members up to 90 cents for every dollar generated through advertisements and affiliate programs. Well, getting paid to do what we are already doing daily sure sounds like fun.

I think that even if you do not use the search engines as much as I do, as long as you are an internet user, you should check out Radiux an be compensated for your online activities!

Is The Google Page Rank Here Yet?

Much has been said about Google Page Rank updating at the end of July. Well, that has come and gone and it’s already going to be the end of August! Has it come yet or hasn’t it? I read that some people has a better page rank now while some blogs were assigned a lower Page Rank. Oh boy!

Checking my traffic stats, I get a lot of visits from Google bots checking all my links but then I do not see a change in my Page Rank at all. Don’t tell me it’s going to be a Three again :(

A Four would make so much difference to my blog for pay efforts. At least I would not have to write so many posts every day even though I would have to keep networking.

It is true that “If you look at what you do not have in life, you don’t have anything. If you look at what you have in life, you have everything.” *sigh*

The Hair Transplant Adviser

This morning while blog hopping, I chanced upon a blog that is dedicated to all things hair transplant. I have been blogging for a long time and have read quite a number of blogs, private and commercial, but this is the first time reading one that is solely on hair transplant issues.

This is an open blog where readers have the chance to ask expert personnel anything pertaining to hair transplant and restoration. Contributing editors of the blog are all people expert in this field.

Besides asking questions, readers could also share their stories on hair transplant. I am sure other readers would be interested to hear a first person account.

My friend, Paul, told me that Malaysian men all keep long hair because they do not know how to groom themselves. Well, he did not notice that there are just as many people suffering from hair loss. For people who would like to arrest their hair loss problem once and for all, with this new Hair transplant Adviser blog, now is the time to seek the answers and clear all doubts on hair transplant and restoration.

Another Shot At A Free Apple iPhone

Was just surfing randomly just now and came across this blogger giving out an Apple iPhone 8GB in a contest. Some of you may remember that I have participated in a similar contest earlier. Well, just in case I don’t win that, this is my backup entry!

Rea Maor is the author of this blog, Ask Rea Maor, a tech blog but it also has other topics like jokes and his journey into monetizing his blog. One of my favorite posts is “Top 20 Excuses Why your Wife or Girlfriend Should Let You Have Five More Minutes On the Computer“. As someone who literary lives on the internet, I certainly could relate to that joke piece!

Although there isn’t any real requirement to participate in this iPhone giveaway, you still have to read the Contest information and Rules page, to make sure that you are following the rules.

I sure would like to win this iPhone 😀

IBackUp – Integrated Online Storage and BackUp

Earlier this week, I had a chance to discuss about Online Backup with my friend. She s a small business owner and I was curious how she backs up her data. I don’t even have half her data on my computer and yet have trouble with performing regular back ups.

She told me that she has been using IBackUp for a long time now and does not have any issues with it. In fact, IBackUp, the leading online backup service in the field, has been performing regular backups on her data as scheduled. The good thing is that her BackUp is assigned a drive letter which she could access from any internet enabled computer anywhere in the world. This is very helpful indeed as the travels frequently and yet has access to important files on the go.

Also, IBackUp supports Open File backups which are important for files like Outlook mail.

She told me that IBackUp has won numerous awards from major publications and I am not surprised. IBackUp has various packages to cater to the needs of different people and their use. This means that we only have to pay for what we use.

My WP Is Messed Up

As I wrote in an earlier post that I am forced to have my WordPress version upgraded. I was rather happy with how things were but my host told me that I should get the latest version as the old ones have some security hole or something. Why do they have to release something with holes and then give us more work to do by catching up with newer and newer versions of the software?

Anyway, I begged my host to help me after I read the documentation on how to upgrade WP for like a gazillion times and still did not understand how to go about it.

The good thing was that my host found an automatic upgrade plug-in and uploaded it for me and all I had to do was to activate it and then follow the instructions. He said it would only take a minute per blog.

So I was very happy that there is something so easy out there, like a WP Upgrade for Dummies. I activated it and did as instructed, AND YET still get my WP screwed up. I am just thankful that my blog is still accessible and all the posts are still live.

According to my host, it may be because my plug-ins are no longer compatible with the new WP version. UUrrghh now I have to check my plug-ins and grab the latest versions. Why does own hosting have to be so troublesome????

By the way, I am amazed THERE ARE people who bought WP t-shirts at MYR100 a piece. I wouldn’t wear it if it were the last t-shirt on earth. I think I am developing an allergy to WordPress!
