Domain Name Poser

The other day, I said that I am itchy-fingered wanting to start a new blog. Well I checked a few names but they were all already taken. Even my name is already taken and left a third choice of DOT ORG. Well, it does not appeal to me at all. What to do, my name is so common :-/

Anyway, I chatted with my friend, my sifu, and he told me not to get my personal name but to get something neutral. The problem is all the good sounding neutral word, terms and phrases have already been booked. How ah?

I would like to start as soon as possible so that it will have a page rank in the earliest Google Page Rank but I don’t know if I can make it in time or not.

Also, once again, I am going to have to decide on Blogger or WordPress *sigh*

rodeoHOUSTON – Do I Go?

My sister has moved to the United States for almost six years now and she has experienced many things that she would not have the chance to if she had stayed put in Malaysia.

One of the events that she has been to was the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo last year where she caught Hannah Montana and The Cheetah Girls in concert, which was also the concert that broke all rodeo ticket sales records and attended by the most people. My sister was surprised with the turn out because she has never seen that many people before. What she liked was that the stage rotates fully so everyone could get a front view of the stage wherever he or she is sitting.

My sister was utterly caught by surprise at the mega turn out because according to her, fans of Hannah Montana and The Cheetah Girls are teenagers but come in droves they did. My sister thought she would just go watch the concert for experience sake and it would have been better for her if there were less people, so, an experience she did get!

My sister has invited me to the upcoming rodeoHOUSTON in March next year. She lives in Tennessee and proposes that we take a road trip down to Texas. She is still waiting for my confirmation before getting hold of a couple of Houston Rodeo concert tickets. She told me to hurry as she has to book them early. These tickets go like hot cakes and once sold out, it will be very difficult to get hold of any and we may have to wait for 2009. That is a long way off. Too long.

Personally, I would love to watch Bon Jovi perform at the rodeoHOUSTON but they already have, in the past. I wonder if they are lined up for next year. That would really give me the push to go!

Namewee’s Kawanku, My Friends

Not too long ago, I wrote two posts on Namewee’s Negaraku Ku on my blog, An Anonymous Journal, and boy, did they bring in so much traffic from people all over Malaysia and some overseas too. I think they were looking for his video but I wonder why they did not go directly to YouTube. They could just type the keyword “Namewee” on the search bar and the video is there. I just checked and it is still not taken down.

I did not watch Negaraku Ku this time because I just had lunch! I was there to watch his latest release, Kawanku or My Friend(s), in English.

I have to give it to him that this young chap is really talented. Let’s not go into the content of his songs, his satire ship or sarcastic humor. He does think they are funny. Let’s admit that he is very creative. However, he is not gaining himself any favours among certain quarters by singing on these sensitive topics no matter how true they are.

If you would like to check out his new video, head over to YouTube. Go early before the video is taken down in case somebody takes out an injunction on it. It could happen, you know? Stranger things have happened before!

Where To Go?

The other day when I was chatting with my friend and talking about our vacations, he asked me where I want to go actually, if money was of no concern. That is a tough question to answer! I have been to many places locally, but I have yet to see the other places the world has to offer and naturally, I want to visit a lot of places but to pick only one? When I was younger, I used to say that Monaco is my dream destination, but until today, I am not even sure if I could afford a trip there, though I am working so hard towards my dream holiday!

I could, of course, take one of the villa rentals in France and take a day trip over to Monte Carlo. That would be cheaper, of course. But… if I could go on such a dream vacation and not bust my budget, then I am game!

My friend asked me why I want to go to Monte Carlo when there are so many more places to go to like Hawaii, which he returned from and showed me all the beautiful photos that he took. Well, I don’t know, perhaps the fixation came from a soap opera that I watched when I was young.

We checked out Luxury Retreats for private villa rentals just to inspire ourselves to work harder to achieve that dream holiday. I love it that the images are auto-played on the homepage teasing me with their beauty. This is a good way to let the photos help you decide on your next travel destination if you do not have any specific place to go. Or you could just let the photos of villas determine your travel plans!

More On Twitter

So the other day, after discovering that Fring supports Twitter now and made a post on it, I finally found the time to check out the website. Well, according to Twitter, it is a platform that allows people from all over the world to answer a simple question: What are you doing?

Well, isn’t it funny that there are people who would want to announce to the world what they are doing and that there are people who would be interested? I mean, I do sometimes receive SMS messages from friends asking me what I am doing, and IF I were on Twitter, they would not have to ask me but just check my Twitter. I guess that is how it works but then these are my friends and they genuinely would like to know.

Anyway, I don’t think I can do it. I will not be registering with Twitter for the time being. Maybe one day I would be so bored out of my head that I would actually do it, but right now, I don’t feel the need to let everyone know what I am doing to the minute, not when nothing special happens to me all the time.

Blogger’s Video Uploader

If you noticed, Blogger has this new feature where we could upload videos now. Whether it works or not, I have yet to try it because I do not have any original video on hand unless it’s porn that my friend sent to me *ahem* Don’t ask me why. Oh yea, I do have a video of my pet but it is so low quality, who wants to watch, anyway?

I wonder if this feature will throw an error when we switch from HTML and WYSIWYG windows like it sometimes does. If you are using it, do let me know.

There are quite a few features that I would like to see on websites that I use frequently, but then I have this fear that changing or adding of codes could actually pull a site down for hours, maybe. Come to think of it, Blogger was down for some time the other day just before this video uploader appeared. Maybe this was the reason?
