What Contest?

Recently, it looks like a blogger is only a true blogger if he/she holds some kind of contest. I have been thinking of hosting one as well, for a start but don’t have an idea how to make an easy yet interesting contest that everybody wants to join.

What are the prizes that would make people want to give it a shot? I personally prefer cash prize, but then how much is enough? I have 101 questions that I don’t have answers to.

I read of a case where this guy held a contest and according to him, the winner won because she was the only entrant! Can you believe that? Oh dear, that is uber pathetic!

I hope that if I were to run a contest, so that I will be a real blogger, there would be at least TWO entrants! hah!

Seriously, I am open to suggestions on the kind of contests you would like to participate in. I understand that the easier it is, the more you like to play but do let me know, ok?

What A Coincidence!

It must be pure coincidence that right after writing and publishing my post below, I received a phone call from my sister that she has booked a wonderful holiday to Hawaii with a couple of her colleagues. They checked for Hawaiian vacation information online and found the information they wanted from the blog of Hawaiian Beach Rentals.

While browsing the site, they noticed the wide selection of Oahu vacation rentals open for booking and where they instantly decided that they will be going to Hawaii together so they placed a booking, but not before one of them objected to a vacation rental and actually wanted one of those Maui condos. However, the majority vote won and so they finally settled on a Oahu vacation rental.

I think it’s a load of fun to be able to go on a group vacation with colleagues. It’s simply not the same as going with family! Perhaps going with friends and colleagues, one could actually let her hair down and not be judged.

Seeking Further Hawaii Travel Information

A week ago, I wrote a couple of posts about vacationing in Hawaii and they received good feedback from readers. Everyone agreed that Hawaii is one of the best vacation destinations in the world thanks to the great weather and stunning clear white beaches.

So just now, I had some free time on my hands and decided to find out further Hawaii Travel Information and came upon the travel blog Hawaiian Beach Rentals. I have to say that this blog is a great resource site on Hawaii with great tips for the vacationer.

I noticed also that Hawaiian Beach Rentals has a stunning collection of Maui vacation homes and other vacation rentals in its database that suit any budget or traveling style. I have heard that vacation rentals is the way to holiday now and I believe it is true judging from the many beautiful vacation rentals that are being offered by Hawaiian Beach Rentals.

If you are planning a vacation, you may want to try tropical Hawaii and its hospitality. Check out Hawaiian Beach Rentals for the kind of vacation rentals that are awaiting you!

Mesosilver® Brand Colloidal Silver

Just now I was blog hopping and I read some people saying that there are many types of colloidal silver but there is only one true colloidal silver brand called the Mesosilver® Brand colloidal silver.

Being only just introduced to colloidal silver, I was very curious of this product and cannot believe that there are people who would drink silver, so I checked out various websites.

According to the website of Purest Colloids, Inc, Mesosilver® Brand is the most effective colloidal silver because it has the highest particle surface area. And according to the website, many people have mistaken that taking colloidal silver will cause Argyria, when in fact, it is caused by taking impure colloidal silver.

That is why, it is said that if you have a little knowledge, it could be more harmful than not knowing at all. If I were to try out colloidal silver, of course I would want the purest colloidal silver for maximum effectiveness against illnesses and diseases. It is said that colloidal silver could ward off a lot of sickness!

Domain Name Problems

Since the day I thought that I would start a couple of new blogs, I have been checking the availability of domain names and I have been so unsuccessful. All the good ones that I could think of have already been registered. I was told that I could offer the owner some money or I could wait for it to drop back into the pool. That would be a long wait, wouldn’t it? And there is also no certainty that it would ever drop back into the pool. I mean, IF I like the domain name well enough to register it, I don’t think I will let it expire.

Actually, I did manage to find a couple of names that are variations of what I actually wanted but my friend told me to specifically get DOT COM addresses and not any other.

At first he said that if I were to get a DOT NET or whatever and if the DOT COM is also a blog, it would cause confusion. I do agree, though, because normally, everyone would assume it is DOT COM first.

But then my friend changed his mind and told me to better get DOT COM. He said that if I were to get some thing other than DOT COM and the DOT COM is already an established site, Google may penalize me for apparently leeching or copying the DOT COM site and it would be a struggle for me to get a decent Google Page Rank. Is there such a thing?

So now it is back to the drawing board again!

David Woon’s Just A Thought

Just now I was telling my friend that I was bored with blogs that I have been reading all these while and wanted something fresh. I could not even come up with FIVE totally new blogs to participate in recent Blog Day, so you can imagine how small my circle of blog hopping has become.

My friend recommended Just A Thought to me, a blog by Singaporean David Woon at http://www.davidwoon.com/blog/. I have not heard of this blogger before but I have enjoyed the blogs of a few Singaporeans so I was game to explore a little.

Although Just a Thought is supposed to be a blog on the personal thoughts, observations and inspirations of David Woon, I find that his posts do make me stop and think for a moment about my life, my own thoughts on life matters and about life in general. Reading the blog, I was also introduced to many interesting websites that I have not read before.

What make the blog hard to read are the Christmas multi-colors all over the post(s) and blog that distracts my attention from the real content. Also, I wish that David would update the blog more regularly. As an example, there were only a total of seven posts for 2007. I definitely would enjoy more of David’s deep thoughts if only he would share more of them!
