Doing It Myself *sigh*

If you have read one of my earlier posts, I was seriously thinking of paying one of those directory submission companies to help me submit my blog URLs to all those high PR directories.

I did some research lately and found that some people got fleeced. Off hand I don’t remember the company name but I expect that when a company says tat they are able to submit X Links to Y number of directories within a stipulated time frame, I would expect no less.

Anyway, I also read that the main directory’s homepage may have a high PR but that does not mean that we will get any of the juice since some are already nofollow and inner category pages may not even have any rank to show. And even then, there is no guarantee that their PR will not fall.

So, yeah, I will be doing that later by myself.

If you are an investor, have you sometimes wondered what your peers are investing in and making money from? I have to admit, although I keep telling myself that investment is not gambling and we should be well-versed in our stocks and counters before putting money in, sometimes I wonder where others invest their money and tempted to check the prices and see if a profit could be made.

FinGad – Finance News From You is a newly launched site which is a financial network. It allows members to compare their portfolio of stocks and exchange notes on counters and the companies.

If you check FinGad, it actually looks like a collection of financial news, investment news and reviews on stocks and various companies.

Members can post a review on the site and share their knowledge and thoughts with fellow members.

So Much Free Time To Network

I suddenly have so much free time on my hands lately that I have spent good time networking and bringing in more traffic despite it all. I still haven’t join Facebook, though. I need to work on getting traffic from there and also Stumble Upon. Yeah… hopefully somebody will Stumble me because I am too straight to Stumble my own posts haha!

Also, this morning, somebody found me through Technorati for the keyword Entrecard and came over, wanting to drop me card but then there is no widget on this blog since Entrecard currently does not support multiple blogs and widgets in a single account and I am not going to set up many accounts just to submit my blogs to the site but it is a great traffic generator.

So while I have been complaining that I do not have the time to network, this is an opportunity for us to network and work on traffic and build a larger readership.

A friend of mine told me that he is looking for Oregon mortgage refinance but d not know where to start searching on the internet. I did not ask why he specifically wanted a remortgage in Oregon. I figured that he must have property there.

I did help him with the search though because I remember stumbling upon a information and resource site on Oregon mortgage refinance. I just needed to back track because I have forgotten the web address.

However, I finally managed to find it in my bookmarks and showed it to him. I told him that if he is serious in applying for a remortgage then he should read the website and absorb as much information as possible. It is very convenient to apply for a remortgage once he is ready. He could do it online via the website of Oregon’s Best Mortgage as well.

Even though I myself do not have any need for Oregon mortgage refinance, I also read up on the articles found on the site just to be up to date with the market trends. I think that since the interest rate has gone down, my friend is taking a right step in seeking a remortgage. Besides remortgage, there are also lots of information of other loans as well.

The Long Search For An Executive Post

If you have ever searched for a job before, you will appreciate how tough it is. Career opportunities are not easy to come by and this is especially true when you are looking for an executive post or higher. I once spent ten long months helping a friend look for a job. He wasn’t even choosy but because of his age, qualification and experience, I had to leave his resume with an executive search firm.

Of course, I am happy to say that in the end, after a long antagonizing wait, he managed to secure a job befitting his stature. I believe that he would not be able to do that without the help of an executive search firm. I think this is partly due to the fact that companies with vacancies in high positions in the management team do not simply advertise these vacancies and they prefer to go through executive search firms or head hunters.

Though the wait was long, it was worth it.

Is RealRank Flawed Too?

I was blog hopping when I came across the link to check our RealRank. I know that it has been open to some beta testers but I am not one of the testers and I did not check the forum because frankly, PPP is not as relevant to me as it was six to twelve months ago.

Anyway, I went to check out a few of my blogs and I am not surprised with the low ranks. I know I haven’t been networking because I am basically an introvert. I could write and have no one reading and I would be just as happy but then I would feel bad for my sponsors hence I do try to get the blog out a little now and then.

You may wonder why I questioned if RealRank is flawed. I have read many people saying that page ranks, Alexa, Technorati ranks and what-have-you could be easily manipulated. So can traffic.

The thing is, I checked a few of my blogs and I found that the blog that received the most traffic and page views daily on the average and has a link weight that is heavier than all the rest has a low Rank. Well, that is not a problem because maybe the scale is high for RealRank and my site is really that lowly ranked.

The problem is that when I checked my new blog, only two months old and do not even have twenty posts in it, no traffic at all unless I publish a post, not linked to except for two kind friends who included me on their blogroll, unclaimed on Technorati, do not have any Page Rank history yet and an Alexa reading exceeding a million because it is so new, has a way higher RealRank than any of my more established blogs.

I don’t know about you, but this certainly looks screwed up!
