Last Minute Accommodation In London

My cousin, Jasmine, has once again invited me to visit her in London. yes, I am eager to do so as well since we have not met each other in the past ten years and to think that we used to be so close when we were kids. Well, what can I say but work and life got in the way. She went to work in London and did not have the opportunity to return for a holiday but she has promised to take us for a mini London tour if and when we managed to get ourselves there!

I am not even sure if I could get leave off work, that’s why it is always difficult to plan my vacation ahead but Jasmine told me of a website which I could book last minute hotel rooms in the UK.

I checked out Hotel Shop UK upon her recommendation and it is a breeze to navigate the site. I could just search for my idea hotel by the type of hotel I am looking for, the type of breaks that I am looking forward to and the kind of offer that I have in mind.

I went through the list of hotels in London and frankly, I am not prepared to spend too much on hotel accommodation but I have my eye on The Burns which has affordable rooms and is located at Kensington in London, a lovely place, according to Jasmine.

Hotel Shop UK has a list of amenities listed for each hotel and includes the different daily rates, nearby places of interests and the nearest tubes. These are valuable information for the visitor, especially a first time visitor like me!

Going Crazy Over Word Verification

This morning whist blog hopping, I tried to leave a comment on a blog. It was my first visit to the blog, though, and I was required to submit the weird verification before I was allowed to post my comment. I could register with the blog to escape from submitting word verification but I see no point in registering with a blog just so that I could comment on their posts.

You know how these word verifications are. I swear I got them right all the time but I keep getting an error and I was not able to leave that bloody comment! It was so frustrating that I wondered why the administrators would want to make their readers jump over hoops just to leave ONE comment!

In the end, it felt like a game betting with myself, how many times it would take me to successfully submit my comment. I hope that this blog would have a more friendly way of deterring spam comments or it will stop people from commenting on their posts!

Free Content For Your Website or Blog

I wrote previously about friends who run more than ten blogs and I wonder how they could keep churning out article after article. Today, I got to know of a database of free website content where blog or website publishers could access those free articles and publish them on their own blog. I wonder if my friends are using services like this? Of course, I do not think there is anything wrong with that since these articles come with reprint permission.

People who can write original articles could also submit their articles to this database for others to use as content on their own sites. I don’t know how this would work out to benefit both the writer and publisher but I am sure both will gain from targeted organic search traffic!

It’s So Strange

I noticed something strange about my blogs’ server. Why is it that lately, almost every day, at around the same time, after 1pm or so, my server is down inaccessible???

I noticed this happening a few months ago and I wrote in to my host and told them this strange happening and they wrote back and gave me a technical reason that for the life of me, I could not remember at all now. Suffice to say, it has something to do with the server and somehow, it goes down at midnight, since this server is hosted in the United States.

A while ago, this problem was solved and I was relieved. However, to my horror, it is happening again and I noticed it happening this past week. I wonder if I should write in to my host AGAIN! I feel like I am a nag….

I am just over worried that my posts will all go missing or something when my server recovers. I know I’m irrational. My excuse is that I am low tech 😀

Information On Florida

My cousin, Jasmine, who lives in London, told me that it is surprising how many British people travel to Florida for a vacation. Like most web-savvy people, they would do their research on the internet first before making reservations. I believe this is what all of us would do so as not to waste our previous travel time.

According to Jasmine, most of her friends who are going to Florida for a vacation this December have made reservations for Florida Villas through the web. They told Jasmine that one of the sites they go to is Think Florida, a resourceful and informative site on Florida travel and vacation that specifically caters to British people.

Getting information and subsequently making holiday plans online is a very convenient way to plan our holiday. It is especially so when a website has all the information on your preferred destination that you ever need!

700,000 Unique Visitors

A friend of mine was lucky enough to have his post picked up by an extremely prominent local blogger and was given a link out from his website. Within one day, my friend told me that he received a total of 700,000 unique visitors.

Since not everyone who reads the prominent blogger’s blog would click on the link, let’s say it’s a high 50% click through, this blogger receives a conservative 1.4 million unique visitors PER DAY! I tell you, that is a figure most of us would kill for.

We would have been happy with 700,000 visitors to our site only if it was for a day. However, my friend was not happy and said that this sudden surge in traffic screwed up his AdSense revenue, as expected from low-quality traffic who not only are ad-blind but also whose bounce rate is high.

Hah… I would have lapped up this one day fame!

All Inclusive Honeymoons With SuperClubs

The year-end holiday is a time for weddings. I personally have received quite a few “red bombs” for this month alone. I heard from a couple of bridal couples that they are going on all inclusive honeymoons. I have only heard of the popularity of all inclusive honeymoons a couple of months ago and I am surprised that this trend has been picked up by Malaysian couples as well.

According to these friends, they have heard of the destination weddings that are being offered by SuperClubs and how well everything is taken care of should they take out a honeymoon vacation through them.

The most popular wedding destinations are the Caribbean and Jamaica and surprisingly, these vacation packages are very reasonably priced without hidden costs. I had thought that these would cost an arm and a leg because they are so far away but then with a savings of up to 55%, I would say it makes it affordable to many people bridal couples.
