500 Internal Server Error

Recently, I discovered that a handful of my sub-domain blogs are offline and the error message is 500 Internal Server Error. I don’t even know what happened to them because I haven’t done anything to these blogs except to upgrade WordPress to the latest version. I haven’t even blogged on them for a while already!

The weird thing is that the blog on the main domain is OK and so are some other blogs that are on sub-domains. Oh yes, even though I could not access these blogs online, I also could not access these blogs via WordPress admin. However, I could view my files from the cpanel and I have FTP access to them. Isn’t that strange?

I now I should seek out my webhost again but after the problems I gave him with the server overload twice in the beginning of May, I thought I should give him a rest. LOL

Windows Live Connection Problems

I have been facing connection problems with both Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Messenger. I don’t know if it’s setting problems or what as I could not access any of my Hotmail accounts from Windows Live Mail for the past few days. Things were fine previously.

I tried to log into another account for my Windows Live Messenger and the problem is intermittent. I could connect to account A sometimes but could not connect to account B totally.

Obviously, this drives me crazy. With technology so advanced, one would expect things to work smoothly. At least I do. I don’t know about you! Moreover, Hotmail is my primary email address and I hate to access my email from the website of Live. It’s so unfriendly!

Is anyone else having the same problems? I checked the web and noticed people having similar problems off and on but I cannot say if we are all dealing with the same issue. And oh, the system concerned is running on Windows Vista Business.

Worker Safety & Insurance Coverage

A friend told me that as the owner of a fabrication plant, he has to follow strict safety procedures and make sure that all his workers are covered by insurance.

According to this friend, there was a company of a similar fabrication plant that was sued for worker injury because of a mistake on the part of the management. The company had to pay a huge sum in compensation.

My friend says that he does not want to be in those shoes. If an accident happens, insurance will take care of the problem. My friend jokes that if he was sued by an experienced Nebraska Personal Injury Lawyer, he may have to close his business and he doesn’t want that to happen!

I am sure we all have read of the worth of Facebook and how some web giants willingly pay a high price for their shares. Of course, with the economy less rosy, their share price must have corrected a little.

When I first joined Facebook, I didn’t want to spend too much time there but i soon log in to Facebook daily after I decided to try out some of the free games available on Facebook. I now must pay pet society, restaurant city and bejeweled blitz daily.

Quite a number of friends are hooked on farming games like Barn Buddy, Farm Town and Fantasy Farm which I installed but dare not start playing. I don’t want to end up spending the better part of my day playing games on Facebook!

Even for friends who are not into any free games on Facebook, they tell me they must log into their account every day and keep the window open. Well, they are not alone. Did you know that Facebook is currently the number one website that web users worldwide cannot live without?

As a blogger for a few years already with both Blogger and WordPress hosted blogs, many friends who are new to blogging would ask me which blogging platform is better. I tell them that although Blogger is easy, WordPress offers a whole lot of customization options which we would enjoy using once we understand the workings of WordPress.

Google Chrome 2.0 – Faster & More Secure

Google unveiled its new version of Chrome web browser on Thursday, finally bringing it out of Beta and boasts an increase of speed by more than 30% compared to Chrome 1.0. Chrome 2.0 is also said to offer better web security.

I haven’t tried Google Chrome 2.0 yet, because I am never someone who jumps right in to try something that has just been released in case of bugs and stuff, but if it’s 30% faster than the original Chrome, I definitely would like to give it a try.

I don’t know, it must be my computer or something because I never felt that Chrome is faster than Firefox or IE. To me, Firefox isn’t even fast enough. IE is the fastest. But like I said, Chrome 2.0’s 30% increase in speed is definitely something to see.

Oh yes, faster or not, I do not see myself making Chrome my default browsers unless it offers auto-reload function for individual tabs. I can’t live without auto-reloads!
