Limited Connectivity On Wireless

I’ve been having a limited connectivity issue when connecting my laptop to the internet via wireless. The problem is that it doesn’t happen straightaway but the signal could suddenly drop after a few hours of connection without a problem.

When this happens, I check my other systems right away to find that my modem and router still function. I even try connecting to the internet on my mobile devices via wireless and everything seems fine.

I called up the shop where I bought my laptop from and the lady asked me to bring it in for a checkup. I called up the shop where I bought the router from and the guy told me that it’s possibly a settings problem and I should reset it. Hhhhmm who is right?

I have not done anything so far; just changed my router. LOL I always take the easy way out. With my back up router, so far, I haven’t experienced a drop in connection but then maybe I haven’t been using my laptop long enough for it to happen!

Shopping For Used Car

I was discussing with a friend about my plans to purchase a used car. Since I plan to purchase it online, my friend was rather worried. He said that for someone like me who have no experience owning a car, it is better for me to purchase a new car that comes with a 5-year warranty plan.

However, my father advised me differently. He told me that even with a used car, there is nothing to worry about as long as we spend some money to overhaul it after purchasing the car.

Companies like midwest auto recycling which are specialists in used car engines and transmissions would have what we require if the engine or transmission of the “new” used car needs replacing.

With two differing opinions, frankly, I cannot decide. Of course, if I have enough funds, I would surely buy a spanking new car!

DiGi Increases GSM Network Capacity in Klang Valley

Here’s good news for DiGi users, especially those of you who are in the Klang Valley. I know many of my friends who are DiGi users are always complaining of low coverage, weak signal and what not, well, if you are in the Klang Valley, DiGi is increasing their GSM network capacity and it is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

Weak signal and low coverage are issues that helped me decide not to switch to DiGi yet. I am still with Celcom even though they are blood suckers because Ipoh is “Celcom territory” and I am not faced with these common mobile connection issues, thankfully.

If DiGi would do the same upgrade here in Ipoh like what they are doing for users in Klang Valley then I may consider switching. I should be able to reduce my mobile bill, then!

Streamyx Connectivity Problem

I’ve been faced with Streamyx connection problems lately where I could not access certain websites. Again, I hate problems like these because the websites that could not be accessed are always websites that I NEED to use like RIGHT NOW!

I called up Streamyx Customer Care and could you believe it, no one picked up the phone and after just a few redials, I was asked to call them again? I tried and tried and ended up TRYING for a full 24 hours. I wonder if they even pick the phone up!

I stopped calling them and decided to just sit on the problem and wait for it to resolve itself like it normally would. It sure did but my patience was severely tested. I think they purposely do not pick up the phone because they know there is a technical error or glitch somewhere.

Romantic Honeymoon Vacation

I just received an email from my sister who wrote of her just concluded awesome romantic honeymoon vacation. You know, her wedding was actually FIVE months ago but she just managed to go away on a short honeymoon over the recent Memorial weekend holiday. Both she and her husband luckily managed to get four days off work.

My sister told me that although the trip was short and it was not her dream romantic vacation riviera maya that she wanted for her honeymoon, it was still a great opportunity to be away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It must be very refreshing to think of nothing except to enjoy themselves and the company of each other! Wouldn’t it be great if we could do something like this every month?

Blogs Are Like Bad Girlfriends

I haven’t had the chance to really sit down and work on my blogs for the past ten days. If you have been reading my personal blog, you will know why.

I once read someone referring to blogs like bad girlfriends. I don’t remember who said that anymore but I think it’s spot on. Bad girlfriends here mean that girlfriends who need constant attention and that’s exactly what blogs need!

Like I said, I was not able to spend time working on my slew of blogs and I could actually see the traffic count for most blogs declining, even for my most popular blog where traffic is mostly from search engines, I could see that just because I did not update it as regularly as I used to, the traffic has dropped drastically.

I have to buck up and spend more time updating ’em blogs as soon as possible. I think that I must also cut down on time spent playing Pet Society and Restaurant City on Facebook. Those don’t make me money, real money and not Pet Society and Restaurant city coins. LOL

Retrieving Hotmail With Outlook Express

For a couple of times already, Microsoft has announced that they will no longer develop Outlook Express or offer support for the program. They also mentioned that soon, users will no longer be able to retrieve Hotmail email with Outlook Express and instead, we are encouraged to use Windows Live Mail, a free program that is feature rich and performs better than Outlook Express in the long run.

A couple of days ago, I was having connection issues with retrieving my Hotmail email with Outlook Express. I thought that Microsoft has finally pulled the plug and I did not know about it. I searched all over the web but there was no fresh news on the issue. Going to Microsoft website was a chore.

So I thought Windows Live Mail would do the trick but it was the same. Windows Live Mail isn’t as smooth as it’s touted to be. I suffer from intermittent connection problems with my three Hotmail accounts as well.

Luckily, the issue resolved soon after and I was able to retrieve my Hotmail email with Outlook Express, to my delight. I dread to think what happens when Microsoft really stops this service.
