Legitimate Gold Coin Investments

I am not sure if you have read the news recently where the Securities Commission and Central Bank issued a reminder on fraudulent companies that are taking deposits of up to thousands of dollars per person in exchange for gold flakes.

People are advised to check the website of these the Securities Commission and Central Bank first to see if the company is a legitimate company with a license to accept deposits.

I always remind friends that if they were to invest in gold coins, bullion or flakes, they should always go to established companies with a long history. There is no use giving money to a new company with no background and then end up losing it.

Also, with internet access, we could always do a search on the company online and look for feedback from customers!

Michael Jackson Memorial Service Live Online

I found out that 8TV would be airing Michael Jackson memorial service live at 1am on Wednesday morning (8th July, 2009). A couple of friends asked if I would be watching and I told them I would not. Really, I did not plan to. I am not a huge fan of his and I have plenty of work to do.

Just now, I thought that I would check if there’s any live coverage of Michael Jackson memorial service online and true enough, there is! I guess now I could do my work at the computer AND watch Michael Jackson memorial service live coverage online and in High Definition too.

According to the website of InMusic, coverage of Michael Jackson memorial service at Neverland in Los Angeles will start at 12pm Eastern Time. If you are like me and would rather watch Michael Jackson memorial service live on your computer screen rather than on your TV, visit the website of InMusic HERE.

FTA Satellite TV Downloads & Keys

Although guys are supposed to be more technical minded, I have a friend, Lawrence, who messaged me the other day asking if I could help him troubleshoot his new satellite TV. He couldn’t seem to receive any signal.

Although I have satellite TV at home too, mine is a paid subscription so I have no idea about Free To Air satellite TV. Besides, we are living in different countries! I couldn’t help but I did ask him to search the web for a solution. His frustrations reminded me of a news article I read years ago about a man who suffered a fatal heart attack trying to set up his satellite TV. Yes, he was THAT frustrated!

Coincidentally, I got to know that there is a leading website, N2News, that offers FTA downloads, keys and software for a small subscription fee. They even offer 24-hour live email technical support and private forums for members.

What I like is the instant access that they offer which means that once payment is made, you can access all these important information on how to get your FTA satellite TV up and running in no time. In addition, files are updated daily which you could access at no additional cost. Lawrence may well find his solution here!

Disabling Gmail Conversation View

This morning, I decided to finally do something about the junk I am getting in my Yahoo! Mail. No, I don’t blame Yahoo!’s spam protection for not doing a good job. I brought it on myself by signing up with all sorts of websites and mailing lists and get spammed in return.

So, this morning, i decided to move important email from specific people to my Gmail. I know that Gmail has an import email feature but I decided not to use it as if may mess up my account by importing other irrelevant email, especially junk email. I decided to do it manually by forwarding the email from my Yahoo! Mail to Gmail account.

I have always disliked Gmail’s conversation view but have never felt as inconvenienced by it as now. You see, over the years, this particular friend used the same subject title more than a couple of times and even though the topics were totally different, Gmail “smartly” grouped them together. Of course I hate it!

I know I could use Mozilla Thunderbird or Outlook Express to retrieve my Gmail and view them in Folders like conventional email clients but I prefer to view my Gmail via my browser. My Outlook Express is already choked with email, as I am retrieving my Hotmail with it as well as mail to my email account assigned by my Internet Service Provider.

Anyway, I know there is no way to disable conversation view in Gmail but I still felt the need to vent. LOL I did, however, like some people advised, put in my suggestion to Gmail techs to consider giving us the option to disable conversation view.

In The Rooms

I believe that most of us have friends or even family who are suffering from one form of addiction or another. I personally know of people who need help with smoking and drinking while a friend is addicted to gambling. None is like David Duchovny, addicted to sex, as far as I know.

These people actually need help and support, which is why a lot of them join support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous. Well, just now, I got to know that we can easily find updated lists of InTheRooms Meetings for Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Gamblers Anonymous (GA) meetings and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings.

Itr_bigger

What I like about these lists is that they are in wiki form which means that anyone with information could update the lists; or even suggests new fellowships. As a form of control, users have to be registered with the site and revisions will be reviewed and approved by the moderators of the site.

By the way, InTheRooms is actually a social networking protal just like the fellowships mentioned above, but happening online. This isn’t to say that if you participate in InTheRooms, you could quit your fellowship meetings. Many of the users here look for support in addition to what they are getting from fellowships.

Bing Indexes Twitter

Microsoft’s new search engine, Bing, looks set to take on search giant Google, with their new search feature by indexing Twitter. For a start, they are indexing prominent Twitterers, and Bing users who make a search may pick up information from Twits from these people.

On one hand, this is an advancement and we have additional sources of information available through using a search engine but what worries me is that when more Twits are indexed, we may be fed with misinformation like in the recent celebrity hoax following the sudden death of Michael Jackon, where even 80’s pop star Rick Astley fell victim to.

Well, I guess it is up to Bing’s technology to filter out the random Twitter chats from solid information and provide users with something worth our time checking out.

Webhosting Choices

A friend asked me to host my blogs with him, for the second time today. I was miffed as I have already told him previously that I am happy with my webhost right now and I see no reason why I should switch to another host.

I do not take Website Hosting lightly because my livelihood depends on my blogs and websites and I certainly cannot take the risk of having any unnecessary downtime which would happen when moving them to another host. I would, of course, support his business if I didn’t already have reliable yet cheap webhosting but I guess, he is too late in approaching me and at this point, I have no plans to subscribe to yet another hosting package.

Pickaweb.co.uk is a leading webhosting company in the UK, offering budget-friendly webhosting services. Whether you are looking to host a personal or business or professional website or even an online storefront, which you could easily set up with tools provided by Pickaweb.co.uk, they have just the right hosting package to meet your needs.

Most importantly, besides the low cost, hosting with Pickaweb.co.uk, you are assured 99.9% guaranteed uptime as well as full time round the clock technical support. These are the things I would want from my webhost.
