Researching On Gold Bullion Market

A friend told me that he is looking for an investment option that comes with the lowest risk and with as little maintenance or further capital layout as possible. I told him that it may be a good option to buy gold bullion but with the price having gone so high up over the past few months, I am not sure if it is still a good time to invest in gold and other precious metals.

I have never invested in gold before so I really couldn’t give him the information or advise that he wanted but he could always do his research online on the dos and don’ts of investing in gold and silver bullion or other precious metals.

Investing in gold bullion could be a very tricky process since it involves a tidy sum of money but I believe with knowledge, one could be successful in investing in gold bullion.

Gmail Suspicious Account Activity

Gmail has a new feature that would send us an alert if it is detected that our Gmail has been accessed in another geographical location. Of course, this isn’t exactly accurate and it doesn’t replaces that best practices of online security that all of us netizens have to observe the best we could but I think it is good to be alerted if our Gmail account is logged in from another location that may trigger this account.

If it really is logged in by an authorized user, then it is fine and could be just dismissed. However, if the alert pops up that shows that it has been logged in from another city, for example, and if it has really been compromised, we could just changed the password to the account, provided the hacker hasn’t changed to password before the owner has! Still, an alert is better than none.

TM To Launch High Speed Broadband Retail Service March 24

TM will be launching its next generation high speed broadband retail service at Dataran Merdeka Kuala Lumpur on 24th March, 2010.

The launch will be from 7pm onwards and there will be plenty of events lined up, including interactive exhibitions at Dataran Merdeka and will remain open to the public until the evening of Thursday, 25th March, 2010.

With the launch, the service will only available in limited areas, namely Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Taman Tun Dr Ismail and Bangsar. At the moment, we have no idea yet how much it will be to subscribe to this new HSBB service. I don’t think it is going to be affordable to many of us YET but it is really appealing to enjoy broadband speeds of 10Mbps and upwards!

HHmm I wonder when it will land in Ipoh. By then, the price will probably be more competitive. Hopefully!

Guiding A New Blogger

Tomorrow begins my one week holiday in the capital city. I am going to stay with a friend who has graciously opened her home to me. This friend works in retail and is always complaining that the hours are too long. She is surprised that I am able to earn some money online so this week, during my holiday, I will be helping her set up a blog and giving her a push.

Actually, she has asked me to help her out since a couple of months ago but it’s not easy to guide a total newbie online. Since I will be staying in her house, I can show her the steps easily and I believe she would be able to learn faster.

My friend had told me that she is satisfied with a free hosted blog but I am going to convince her to buy her own domain name and subscribe to a good web hosting plan. This is going to be the best investment she has ever made if she is serious in making money online.

I know that the reason my friend wanted free hosting for her blog is because of the cost but I will show her that self-hosting her blog need not be a costly affair. If she would only do some research online on web hosts and their hosting packages, she would see that there would surely be one that could fit her budget.

Facebook Leads Google For One Week

Facebook managed to be the number one visited website in the United States for one week from 7th to 13th March, 2010. Even though this isn’t the first time that Facebook clocked higher visitors than Google, according to Hitwise, this is the first time it managed to hold the lead for one full week.

However, do note that only the homepages of both websites were taken into account and if the full suite of Google web properties were calculated, it would thump all the other websites hands down.

I would say that the popularity of Facebook lies in the game applications that seriously, take up too much of our time. I must admit that because of the games, I too spend more time than necessary on Facebook. I don’t like it but I am hooked, for now, that is.

Relaxing Family Vacation

A friend told me that she is looking for a different kind of vacation this summer. She has always choose “shopping” holidays but suddenly realized that she is spending too much money just buying, buying and buying and needs to put a stop to it.

I would like to suggest she tries out fishing pelican lake. I know her husband loves to fish and does it almost every weekend. She many not like fishing but it will certainly provide her with a different vacation than the types that she has gotten used to previously.

Island View Resort offers a very picturesque view over the lake which I am sure she would enjoy. I haven’t been there myself but wouldn’t mind holidaying there to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

There are quite a few minnesota fishing resorts and if she wants, I could even help her with her research on northern mn cabin rentals. In any case, I hope that one day, I would be able to go on a relaxing vacation like this even though I don’t fish! Still, it would be fun!

Facebook Password Reset Confirmation NR.9300

If you have a Facebook account, then you should be alert that an email seemingly from “The Facebook Team” is making the rounds currently. This email has the subject title “Facebook Password Reset Confirmation NR.9300” and it contains an attachment that has a virus.

Luckily, I have a good email client which not only marked that email as spam thus assigning it to the Spam folder, it also was able to detect the virus and removed the attachment before it hit my inbox.

I am sure many of us who spend a lot of time online is registered with Facebook so we must always be vigilant and look out for such emails coming in since phishers who managed to access our Facebook accounts would then be able to access many of our accounts with other websites from email to financial sites.
