Lady Gaga Hits 10 Million Fans On Facebook

Lady Gaga, the American singer, became the first living person to have the most fans on Facebook. The person who has the most fans is actually Michael Jackson, but then he has passed on slightly more than a year ago.

Who is Lady Gaga? Why does she have that many fans? I have to admit that I don’t care for her music, I don’t care for her, though I have accidentally come across her photos online and on TV entertainment programmes occasionally.

“Hot” as she is, I don’t listen to her music, wouldn’t even know if the song playing on radio is hers, and you wouldn’t find me Googling about her, watching her videos on YouTube or downloading her music. That’s how insignificant she is to me.

Still by wearing outrageous outfits and talking nonsense at interviews, she has managed to capture people’s attention and the fanfare. At this rate she is going, she will probably surpass Michael Jackson’s fan count on Facebook that currently stands at 14 million. The question is how long will it take?

Microsoft KIN Discontinued After 48 Days

Microsoft has decided to pull the plug on their smartphone for children which they named KIN. According to reports, the reason for this immature death of KIN is poor sales. I guess they didn’t have the patience to wait for the market to improve as they improve their product, like what they did on most of Microsoft products.

I myself think that the KIN has plenty of potential so I was caught by surprise when it was discontinued. Of course, small phones are not very practical and are not work tools but then again, their target is on the younger set.

I guess this just came at a poor time when the economy is still just starting to pick up and most people do not have spare cash, especially when spending on a novelty product like KIN.

This probably mean that people who already have bought KIN may have something of value in the future when it could become a collector’s item. I would love to have a KIN too because if it’s size but then it again, it never reached Malaysian shores.

FV touchcam N1 HD Webcam

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of faceVsion Technology USA. All opinions are 100% mine.

With a sister living across the Atlantic for the past ten years, we have been looking for ways to communicate in cheaper ways than conveniently lifting the telephone. The bad thing is that every time I have discovered something new, I would have to teach my parents how to operate it.

Skype has been one of the more popular ways in the household but my parents have lamented that the webcam is of such poor quality that they would rather just voice chat instead of make video calls online. I feel bad about it and have even purchased quite a few webcam models to try out but they don’t have the kind of quality when streamed over the internet.

Socialspark_productimage

This morning, I learned about the FV touchcam N1 which is the first internet streaming true High Definition (HD) webcam that is Skype-certified. It can deliver full screen 720p streaming video over the internet without a drop in video quality thanks to the H.264 hardware encoder built in Touchcam N1 chipset.

The best thing about faceVsion‘s touchcam is not only easy plug-and-play but its 78 degree super wide angle lens with fast auto-focus so that more people can participate in video calls. This would be perfect not only in households like mine but also in video calling conferences in a business environment.

If you are interested to purchase an FV touchcam or FV ExpressCombo, visit faceVision on line store. These are also available through their value added partners.

Google China Ends Redirect To Hong Kong

Google China, which has been redirecting its search queries of users in China to its servers in Hong Kong, will have to stop doing that or their license to operate in China will not be renewed and they will have to pack up.

So it looks like to continue to do business in China, Google will be compromising on the essence of the internet, which should be free and unrestricted, and comply with China’s regulations.

Although China has been rather successful in blocking most of Google’s redirection to Hong Kong, they are not happy that they have to do that. If Google wants to continue to operate a commercial website, and it looks like they do, they will have to do what China tells them to do.

Buy Gold Coins Conveniently Online

My mother told me that because she doesn’t know how to drive, she loses out on many things online. Recently, she told me that she wanted to go and buy specially issued currencies but because I was traveling, she wasn’t able to make her way there. It was too out of the way to take public transport.

I told her that there are plenty of ways to buy gold coins and currencies online and she doesn’t really have to be there in person. I already thought her how to check up for information online.

I guess now only does she understand that with the internet, many more things are possible, not just reading.

UK’s Met Police Probe Google

UK is the latest country to probe Google over the company’s “accidental” scooping of information from unsecured wi-fi connections where users’ information were stored by Google. Other countries running such probes are the United States, France and New Zealand.

Google has admitted that they have scooped such data in over thirty countries and they claimed that it’s an accident and in a blog post on their blog, understand that they have failed to earn Google users.

I just can’t believe that this is an accident. How could it be when the same thing happened in over thirty countries? The world’s governments should pressure into revealing the kind of data they have procured with their Street View project and force them to destroy whatever data of world users that they have in their database.

Pakistan Calls For Ban On Nine Websites

Following the controversy where a Facebook user organized an “Everyone Draw Mohammed Day” which caused an uproar in Pakistan and the blockage of Facebook for almost two weeks last month in the country, the court is now calling for the ban of a total of nine websites (Google, Yahoo, Amazon, MSN, Hotmail, YouTube, Islam Exposed, In The Name of Allah and Bing) for allegedly promoting blasphemy against Islam.

Looking at this list of nine websites, we can see that they are major websites and if taking them away, there is nothing much left to do online. Well, there’s still Facebook and Twitter but seeing how viral they could be, I wouldn’t be surprised if these two sites are added on to the list soon.

I pity people who live in ultra extremist countries, not by choice, and what they could access on the internet, television and even radio, is so restricted, it’s difficult to get a real picture on anything. For the sake of Pakistani internet users, let’s hope that this blockage will not materialize.
