1 in 10 Adult Americans Own a Tablet

A new survey has released results that say one in ten adult Americans now own a tablet, 18 months after the first generation Apple iPad was introduced. These tablet users now consume news more closely than they did on the computer or print publication, and they also surf the net more frequently, play games, watch videos and spend more time on social networks like Facebook.

Generally, tablet owners are middle-aged, higher-income working adults, who need to follow the news more closely, probably because of the nature of their work. I guess this demographic is similar all over the work since the tablet market is still pretty new.

No-Contract Mobile Phone

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk. All opinions are 100% mine.

My sister, who has been using Apple iPhone, is finally free from her contract with her mobile service provider at the end of this year. She said it seemed like the longest two years of the life while waiting for the contract to expire. She said she has been forced to pay a high monthly mobile phone bill after signing on the dotted line, even though she does not use the phone as much as she thought she would.

Since I have been telling her about The power of Android, she things it’s high time for her to switch to Android as well. It will be a good time for her to look for a better service provider. I think she should go with Straight Talk since she would then be able to get all the apps and games she needs onto her Android powered mobile phone.

Straight Talk is one of the few mobile providers that still offer unlimited monthly plans. In addition, the company only carries reputable mobile phones from manufacturers like Motorola, Kyocera, Nokia, LG and Samsung.

Even with a smart phone but an even smarter plan, my sister would definitely Feel Richer with Android without being tied to a mobile contract. She could obviously make better use of her money saved monthly!

Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus

Samsung has unveiled its latest tablet, the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. It will run on Android Honeycomb, weighs only 12oz, is just 0.39in thick and of course, has a 7in display. This is, I think, a new model that supersedes the 8in tablet, though I am now unsure if Samsung will be releasing the 8in tablet.

I have been looking at Samsung tablets and the first generation 7in tablet, though handy, is already “old”. The 10.1in is too large and not that handy, especially for a girl, but this 7.0 Plus sounds perfect. I wonder if it could work like a phone as well? And what size SIM card does it use?

Physician Search

With so many physicians in the United States, my friend told me that it is not easy to reconnect with his old colleagues, once they have lost touch. With Doximity.com, that could change. This private network for physicians in the United States has made it easy for physicians to search out colleagues, former students or residents thanks to its powerful search engine.

Let’s say you would like to search for Bruce Stewart MD, just key in his name in the search bar, and if you know his location or workplace, include that. With a list of names that has been narrowed down, you would be able to look for the Bruce Stewart that you know.

10K Facebook Credentials Published Online

It has been reported that a team of hackers from Nepal who call themselves Team Swastika, has published ten thousand Facebook login IDs and passwords online for anyone to take advantage of. While I am not able to check which are the accounts that have been compromised, and there is no information on how this team came upon such information, if you feel that your account has been compromised, you should change your password now.

Facebook users have also been advised to occasionally change their Facebook account password from a malware-free computer, to avoid hackers. This sounds like a lot of work, huh, especially since many of us do not have only one “important” account online!

Net10 Unlimited Mobile Plan

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Net10. All opinions are 100% mine.

When my sister told me that her phone is giving her problems already, I thought that it’s a good time for her to look for a new mobile plan as well. I have shown her a video of what a Real NET10 customer says, and we are convinced that she would be able to save a lot of money monthly. You should also check out What Rob has to say.

The good thing about Net10 is that they only carry mobile phones from trusted manufacturers, like Nokia, Samsung and LG, so one is assured of getting good quality phones. Additionally, Net10 customers do not suffer from weak signals, or worst, dropped calls. With an unbeatable mobile plan, it is really easy to see why Net10 is the mobile service of choice, especially among the budget-conscious.

Net10 offers various contract-free mobile phone plans, so one should be able to find something suitable. For example, for people looking for an unlimited monthly plan, they only have to pay $50 per month. They could then enjoy unlimited talk time, text and web browsing every month.

Most important, we could switch plans easily month to month without being penalized, since all plans are contract-free. Whether one is using a mobile phone for personal or business, Net10 will be an ideal provider. For more information, check out Net10 on Facebook or follow their Twitter page.

Apple Stores May Close On Wednesday

Apple is rumoured to close all their stores worldwide Wednesday, to allow employees to pay tribute to Steve Jobs, who passed away on 5th October from a rare pancreatic cancer at the age of 56. This is just a rumour still, and we have not been able to confirm the news. Maybe I will drive out to the nearest Apple Store in my city on Wednesday, to have a look.
