PC Fair In Ipoh

It’s PC Fair time in Ipoh this weekend and honestly, I have not been this excited about a PC fair for a long time till now. It is because the Windows 8 tablets are out and I can’t wait to play with them soon. Well, I don’t know if they will be brought here but I do hope so!

I wonder if Windows 8 will live up to my expectations. A friend, who at first told me to wait for Windows 8 tablets, is now telling me that I am better off getting an iPad or an Android based tablet. An iPad? Wasn’t he very against iPad last time, giving me a thousand and one disadvantages of iPad?

Ultrabook Convertibles

With the release of Windows 8, it looks like I don’t have too long to wait for the ultrabook convertibles (Notebook + Tablet) to be shipped to Malaysia. But now, I need to wait for the prices to go down a little from the competition.

However, my friend said that Windows 8 is still not good enough, now that he has seen its workings, and told me that I’m better off getting an iPad or an Android tablet. I already have a 7in Android tablet, and I am not travelling with it because it is too small.

Anyway, I will see how later. If an ultrabook convertible is affordable, I would get it!

iPad Mini

Apple launched the iPad Mini without much fanfare, and yet, I read reports that some stores in the US have already sold out their stocks. Oh, wow! So, what is new with the iPad Mini? From what I read, apart from the smaller size, nothing has changed, no new features, etc.

My friend told me that the iPad is “next to useless” and this is from an Apple user who has gone through different generations of the Mac and iPhone. Hurmp! Should I get this or should I not? I already have a 7in tablet, though.

Another friend, when she discovered the name of the new iPad, exclaimed, “Aiyoyo! I Padmini lah!”

Windows 8 Tablets

I have waited such a long time for a tablet that runs on Windows 8 and it is finally out earlier this week! But you know what? I still have no reason to purchase a new laptop yet. I don’t even want a reason because it is still so expensive, you know?

I hope by the time I really do need to replace my current laptop, Windows 8 are a lot cheaper, and there are even more choices in the market.

It’s amazing that even though my laptop now is only 12inches, new products in the market are so much slimmer and lighter! Gah!!! Envious!!!

Cover For Huawei Media Tab

After winning the 7in Huawei Media Tab in a contest three weeks ago, I finally found time to load it with apps and went shopping for a cover for it. I went to a major accessories shopping centre in my city… and found that Samsung rules.

Yes, I knew it long ago but thought that something would fit, surely. But no… my 7in tablet has a camera at the back BUT most tablets this size only have a front camera. Duh.

So how? It looks like I have to either buy online through Huawei website, if they have an online store, or go to Lowyat Plaza to search for it or something, when I could spare the time. I hope I can find it online, though!

Looking For A Power Bank

Am thinking of buying a power bank for my mobile phone, as I am travelling so much and my phone battery cannot last one full day because I use it to get online occasionally when I am on the road.

However, I am not desperate yet as I carry a second phone with me when on the road, hence, I can still make outgoing calls when necessary, and switch SIM cards if I am really waiting for incoming calls.

Oh well, I don’t know how much I should spend on a power bank, and I know there are quite a few types, but which one should I get?

Huawei Media Tab

I recently won a Huawei Media Tab in a contest. It is 7in and runs Android. I have hankered for a tablet for a long time but now that I have it, I don’t think it is that suitable for content output. More like input.

However, I am having a fun time playing around with it and will customise it when I have more time.

This Huawei Media Tab can function as a phone as well, though I read reviews online that some people experienced dropped calls, poor line signal, etc.

Well, I don’t really l\mind as I don’t plan to use it as a phone.

Anyway, Celcom is forcing us to sign up for a broadband plan but I am not going to do that because I already have one. If they force, well, I could even save on my bill!
