Using The Search Engines More
January 6, 2010 – 1:16 pmI really need to teach my mother to use the search engines instead of asking me to look up information for her. It’s a waste of my time even though I gain extra knowledge from searching for what SHE wants!
One day, she would want to look up a medical term, an imaginary illness that she suffers from. The next, she would want information on Las Vegas CPA. It’s information for her friend, she says.
Actually, I have taught her before but she just didn’t grasp it. Perhaps I am a bad instructor with a low level of patience or maybe she simply has computer phobia or something. Well, it’s kind of understandable since she is not like us who grew up with the computer.
Anyway, I have told her numerous times already that the computer is our friend and teacher. It is able to bring us whatever information we seek but we need to know which piece of information or news is correct and which is not!
