Split Or Not
January 16, 2010 – 12:26 pmI am currently in two minds if I should split my Celcom data and voice plan subscription into two SIM cards. Right now, although I am subscribed to two plans, I am using a shared SIM card. Of course, there are advantages and disadvantages.
For one, using a shared SIM, I would only have to carry one mobile phone if I were to move around in town and still be able to use my phone for calls and text messages as well as connect to the internet. If I were to use to separate SIM cards, I would have to carry two mobile phones; one for voice and text and the other for data.
If I have two SIM cards and connected to the internet via a USB modem, I would still be able to make and receive calls and text messages. On the other hand, with only one SIM, once I am connected to the internet via a USB modem, I would not be able to use my phone functions.
I could still connect to the internet on my laptop or desktop PC via my mobile phone if I only have one SIM card but that seriously kills my mobile phone battery. SIGH….. too many options and I don’t even know what’s the best option for me.
