No More Lawsuits For Illegal P2P File Sharing
December 20, 2008 – 2:06 amIn a surprise move, the US music industry will no longer bring P2P music file sharers to court but they have signed a few agreements with various internet service providers in Europe to stop subscribers from continued sharing of music illegally over the internet by blocking them and kicking them off the network. Sounds like a pretty drastic move to me.
Does this mean that these violators will no longer have access to the internet? While every European country has various internet service providers, I am sure, if this happened in Malaysia and if we get kicked by Streamyx, no matter how crappy its service is most times, which ISP could we turn to?
Those P2P users who are facing RIAA lawsuits have to see though that but for those who haven’t get sued, they have escaped lawsuit but this new agreement will apply to them.
