Google Joins Browser War With Google Chrome

September 2, 2008 – 9:51 am

Google will release their spanking new beta browser named Google Chrome to Windows users in over a hundred countries starting tomorrow.

Despite the popularity of Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is still the leader in browser market share. I am still using IE, much to the chagrin of my web designer.

How Google Chrome will be accepted is still unknown but there are plans to release Google Chrome for MAC and Linux systems at a later date. Google, though, promises that Chrome will provide faster page loads and a higher level of security. These are the two main issues that any web browser is concerned about. I look for user-friendliness as well.

One feature that would set Google Chrome apart from other existing browsers is the “incognito ” feature that will not leave any browsing history on the system. I understand that once launched, Google Chrome could be downloaded at http://www.google.com/chrome/
