Need a Decision On My Passion Blogs
November 30, 2007 – 10:52 pmIf you know me, you will know that a have a few passion blogs. Well, they are hosted on Blogger. I have been thinking that since I am “so free” (/sarcasm) lately, I would like to move the blogs to my own hosted blogs. I even solicited free hosting from friends. All I need now is to come up with good domain names that reflect the kind of blogs that I have.
But then I wonder if I would be able to go through the whole process over again with starting a new blog from buying a domain, installing WordPress, looking for a suitable theme, customizing it, filing up the blog with great content and building traffic and readership.
At first, I thought of moving my existing content to my new domain but wonder if that would cause me to have duplicated content. Even if I deleted that blog, my pages would still be in the cache of search engines. So how??

You have a fun blog here. As to moving the blogs…
If you don’t know if you can do it, then try just one of them first. Better still, set up a server on your PC/Mac and install WP there and then practise copying one of your blogs to it. Once you are confident then you can do it for real.
If you don’t know how to setup a server there are lots of tutorials around, I recommend using XAMPP if you’re on a PC. I am currently putting together a tutorial that should be posted in the next week or two.

Thanks for your feedback. hehe I don’t know if I still have the passion for my passion blogs. It’s been a very tiring year blogging!
If I were to move my posts, I could just copy manually because there are not that many posts on Blogger right now.
I don’t know what to do actually. I think I’ll see how the PR thingy goes in the coming days.
