Namewee’s Kawanku, My Friends

Not too long ago, I wrote two posts on Namewee’s Negaraku Ku on my blog, An Anonymous Journal, and boy, did they bring in so much traffic from people all over Malaysia and some overseas too. I think they were looking for his video but I wonder why they did not go directly to YouTube. They could just type the keyword “Namewee” on the search bar and the video is there. I just checked and it is still not taken down.

I did not watch Negaraku Ku this time because I just had lunch! I was there to watch his latest release, Kawanku or My Friend(s), in English.

I have to give it to him that this young chap is really talented. Let’s not go into the content of his songs, his satire ship or sarcastic humor. He does think they are funny. Let’s admit that he is very creative. However, he is not gaining himself any favours among certain quarters by singing on these sensitive topics no matter how true they are.

If you would like to check out his new video, head over to YouTube. Go early before the video is taken down in case somebody takes out an injunction on it. It could happen, you know? Stranger things have happened before!
